Legalize Peace!

A bill calling for a cabinet-level Department of Peace was recently re-introduced into the House of Representatives. House Resolution HR808 currently has 64 co-sponsors.

The Department of Peace will research, facilitate, and articulate nonviolent solutions to conflict, both domestically and internationally.


NEW YORK CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION INTRODUCED Nov 29, 2006

Councilwoman Rosie Mendez, in partnership with New Yorkers for a Department of Peace, introduced a City Council Resolution in November, 2006.

Go to http://www.nyccouncil.info search for 627 as a key word in the year 2006 under All Legislation & Site Content. From there you can read the resolution.

Please use the link to see who has co-sponsored Resolution 627 and how to contact them.

Please contact one or more of the co-sponsors and thank them for their leadership in sponsoring R.627 or encourge you Council Member to sign on if they have not yet.
